NHS Activities Monthly Round-up: December 2025

Band

The band finished up 2925 with the Winter Band Concert on Monday, December 15 followed by the Java Jive Concert on Wednesday, December 17.  Both events are available on the district YouTube Channel.  Next up will be basketball pep band including Alumni Pep Band Night on Friday, January 9.

Choir

The choir and other small groups just performed for the Winter Choir Concert on Monday, December 8th. Vocal Jazz also just performed at the Java Jive Concert on Wednesday, December 17th. Small Groups had a great time going around caroling for NMS, NES, and IRES for the Tour of Schools on Friday, December 19th.

DECA

DECA has had a busy fall/start to winter!  We had 8 students attend the Emerging Leaders Conference in Wisconsin Dells, and we had another group of 6 students attend the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Conference down in Oshkosh.  Both were amazing learning experiences!

We are now in competition season!  We had 27 students travel to Two Harbors this month to participate in DECA Mini-Districts.  We did very well, and we had 6 different event winners!  Next up is DECA Districts at UW-Stout on January 10th!  Should be DECA-mazing!

FCA

The NHS Huddle of FCA meets every Friday morning at 7:35 a.m. in Room 3058.  Reagan Eberhardt, Payton Orme, Sophie Navarro, Jael Lintula and Ailie Clemmer are leading the Huddle.  We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

National Honor Society

We are seeking senior citizens to pair with our National Honor Society students. If you know of someone in our school district who would benefit from spending a few hours a month visiting and doing activities with a couple of high school students, please email Katie Thompson (kthompson@nw-tigers.org).

SADD/FACT

Special thanks to the Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition for partnering with our group to host a special movie night on Dec. 5.  We showed “The Grinch” to about 75!  We had so much fun eating popcorn and making holiday ornaments.  We want to wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Stay tuned for more events in 2026.

Student Council

The Student Council just made a large delivery of toys collected and purchased for their annual K.I.N. Toy Drive.  Students, staff, and community members brought in donations and then the Student Council shopped for additional items that will be given to families in need this holiday season.  The Door-Decorating Contest is well underway at NHS; doors and hallways are looking very festive.  Judges will walk around this week and award one advisory and one non-advisory with “Best Door”.  Ice cream treats and a traveling trophy will also be awarded.  Student Council planned dress-up days for the week leading into Winter Break.  Students and staff are enjoying days such as: Comfy & Cozy, Snow Day Vibes, Ugly Sweaters, Holiday Characters, & Holiday Pajamas.  On the agenda next: SNOW WEEK!

Trap Club

Registration for the Trap Club, 2026 spring season , will kick off in February.  Listen for announcements coming the last week in January or the beginning of February, or direct any questions to Mrs. Wick: NHS room 2051 or phone 715- 363-0136
